( Lai Chau mountainous terrain, complicated with a slope of 25 degrees or more, poor infrastructure, transportation difficulties and dangerous. But there is great potential for land, forests, water, hydro energy, ecological diversity, potential mineral.

1. Transport infrastructure:
            - Lai Chau province is a mountainous border, mountain slopes, terrain, alternating deep and narrow valleys, plateaus has many rivers and streams so difficult to transport development. But Lai Chau has 273 km long border bordering the Democratic Republic of the Chinese People's National gate with Ma Lu Thang (gate is being upgraded to international border) are favorable conditions for the commodity trade and tourism services.
             - The communication network is mainly road. Lai Chau Highway 12 runs through the city connecting from Dien Bien Phu to China (Ma Lu Thang border gate), the National Highway 4D connected to the town of Sapa (Lao Cai), National Highway 32 connects to Yen Bai there waterway Da exchanges with Dien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh. New Lai Chau town about 402 km from Hanoi (via Lao Cai).
             - As of now, there are 95/98 communes having road until the center of the communes in the province and three communes are in the construction phase.
2. Electricity infrastructure - water:
           - Grid infrastructure: By the end of 2009, 80/98 communes and 74% of households use electricity. Many large hydropower projects have been built in the province of Son La hydropower as (2400MW), Huoi Quang (520MW), Ban Chat (220MW), Nam shrugs (1,200 MW), Nam Na 3 (84MW) and especially Lai Chau hydropower (1,200 MW) will be started in late 2010, with 60 projects for small and medium hydropower other ...             - Infrastructure drainage networks: By the end of 2009, 50% of the urban population in the province is used to clean water, 74% of the rural population use clean water.
3. The communication infrastructure:
           - Infrastructure postal and telecommunications: By the end of 2009, the province has 11 post offices, postal 68/89 communes sociocultural, 22 agents and postal delivery points; Commune with 29/89, 06 townships, wards 03/03 release daily newspapers; BTS 221, 111 stations increase over the previous year; density is 16.2 landline telephones / 100 people, an increase of 143% compared to 2008; Internet services continues to grow rapidly, subscriber density of 1.21 / 100 inhabitants, up 162% compared to 2008.
4. Infrastructure education - training:
           - Education: School year 2009-2010 392 schools with 5,759 classes, up 27 cases, compared with 306 in 2008-2009 class. Total number of students to classes is 104,209 students, an increase of 6117 students compared with the previous year. By the end of 2009, has completed secondary education establishments 23 communes, standard universal primary education at the right age.
           - In training: In 2009, the facilities, vocational training, education, professional training association is interested in doing. Vocational training is 10 614 people, opened 45 classes fostering professional, foreign language and computer skills. Percentage of employees trained 26%.
5. Health:
             - Commune 42/98 (42.8%) had medical stations meet national standards, doctors 3.55 / thousand people, 12 regional polyclinics with 1,114 beds across the province. There are 08 units of districts: Central District Health Sin Ho; Medical Center Muong Te; Medical Center Phong Tho district; Medical Center Tam Duong; Medical Center Than Uyen District; Medical Center Tan Uyen district; Preventive Medical Center of Lai Chau town and Tan Uyen Hospital. - 13 units under the Provincial: Provincial Hospital; School Training of health workers; Center for Prevention Malaria - Parasitology - Entomology; Center for HIV / AIDS; Centre for Disease Prevention and society; Center for Preventive Medicine; Center for Reproductive Health; Center for Endocrinology; Media Center health education; Center for Drug Testing, cosmetics, food, Inspection Center; Branch Food safety and Department of Population - Family planning. /.
6. The system enterprise:
           - As of May 30 03, 2009, the system across the province now has 454 enterprises with a total registered capital of the business is 3,598,266 million and 244 branches and representative offices.
